New footage shows the dramatic arrest of Zhimin Qian, now jailed for orchestrating a vast fraud that led to Britain’s biggest crypto seizure - more than £5.5 billion in Bitcoin.
The clips capture Qian giving police a false name and a slick promo titled “Britain nice life”, which officers believe was used to lure potential victims.
Prosecutors said she defrauded over 128,000 people in China in a Ponzi scheme before fleeing to the UK as an international fugitive.
She stashed the illicit funds in Bitcoin and, the court heard, spent years dodging UK authorities while touring Europe, checking into upmarket hotels and living in “luxury”, Southwark Crown Court was told.
