Finding ways to hold work that's rounded, or otherwise not going to stay where you put it on the bench can be a maddening task. V-blocks are a quick solution you can make with some scrap and a few quick cuts. Just for clarity I did not come up with this idea, many many much better woodworkers than I have been using these for years\decades\centuries. A great solution for getting troublesome pieces to sit still.
