In this video Dr George Forgan-Smith explains what the HIV window period is for people getting HIV testing.
While most people will show signs of HIV infection within 14 days, we may also recommend a 2nd test at 90 days which will give a conclusive test result.
If it’s been more than 90 days since your exposure, and your test was negative you can feel assured you have not been infected with HIV.
