"The Ballad Of Bob Stane" - The Storytellers

Описание: Words cannot begin to express our love, admiration and gratitude for our friend and mentor, legendary folk music promoter Bob Stane. But perhaps this video production will be a good start.

We first met Bob in April of 2018. In March of 2020, we reached out to Lynn Shipley Sokolow, an accomplished songwriter and bluegrass musician, and asked her to write lyrics to a song we wanted to record called "The Ballad of Bob Stane".

Lynn watched an in-depth video interview of Bob recounting his life and she produced the lyrics pretty close to how they are presented here. We were fortunate to perform this song for Bob a few times at Coffee Gallery Backstage.

But we always wanted to pay tribute to Bob in a way commensurate with the depth of love we have for him. We knew Lynn loved Bob, like everyone else who ever crossed paths with him. Bob is an extraordinary man who has lived an extraordinary life.

But to honor him commensurate with our awe of him took more time and money than we ever actually had. Nevertheless, we kept dreaming about it and tightening up the lyrics and the chord changes and arrangement in case we ever won the lottery!

That lottery came by way of AI technology. Utilizing it, we were able to produce this fun, lighthearted but impactful video honoring the great and kind Bob Stane. We have kept close in touch with Bob after he retired. We shared this video with him earlier today. It touched his heart.

As he has done for so many famous musicians and comedians, Bob mentored us to success.
