On Saturday, June 7, the Los Angeles County Fire Department hosted the Girls Fire Camp, a dynamic, hands-on introduction to the fire service for youth ages 9 to 17. The camp is open to all participants interested in exploring a future career in the fire service.
Campers suited up and got active in skill stations featuring SCBA, hose lays, ladders, ropes and knots, firefighting tools, and hands-only bystander CPR.
This empowering day offered a real-world glimpse into the life of a firefighter—and a chance to build confidence, leadership, and teamwork. Past campers are encouraged to return as mentors, giving back to the next generation.
