Good single leg balance requires a number of things. Visual feedback from our eyes, our orientation on the earth via the vestibular system, and proprioceptive input from our joint-position sensors. And many people don't yet seem to realize how joint stiffness can interfere with our proprioception - making our balance worse than it could be.
