UBC Geering Up's Community Outreach initiative provides educational programming to over 1,800 kids and youth beyond the Lower Mainland per year. This includes outreach to low-income areas, rural communities and Indigenous nations that we partner with.
Here, our Community Outreach staff, Soundous and Stephen, talk about the importance of partnering with communities in bringing STEM education to all of BC's children and youth. The Outreach team currently aims to emphasize the important role of Traditional Indigenous Knowledge in modern STEM fields through school workshops and land-based programming.
