In this video, we take a quiet late-summer walk through Boston College, starting on the northern edge of campus and following Commonwealth Avenue as students slowly begin to arrive for the fall semester. August gives the campus a transitional feel — landscaped quads, historic stone buildings, light traffic, and just the first signs of the academic year returning.
Founded in 1863 as a Jesuit institution, Boston College began in Boston’s South End before moving to Chestnut Hill in the early 20th century. Much of the campus architecture reflects that period, with Collegiate Gothic and limestone buildings set against broad lawns and tree-lined streets. As we walk, you’ll see residence halls, academic buildings, stretches of the Green Line corridor, and the carefully planned greenspace that defines BC’s main campus today.
This video is about atmosphere more than narration — a calm walk, end-of-summer light, and a look at a historic Boston university as it shifts from summer quiet to fall energy.
