Less known than the Baron Gautsch shipwreck, the Hans Schmidt is also found off the coast of Rovinj. Sunk due to a mine during the Second World War, the wreck lies in navigation trim at a depth of about 40 meters. It is divided into two parts, about twenty meters away from each other. The bow is the smallest and least interesting part. Absolutely worth seeing are the huge propeller and rudder still intact and the load of bombs scattered on the seabed near the crack. And everywhere you look, there’s a scorpionfish watching you…
