Paper Wings is an album paying homage to the 80s Fish-Era albums by Marillion, notably Script for a Jester's Tear (1983), Fugazi (1984), Misplaced Childhood (1985) and Clutching at Straws (1987).
Derek Dick (aka Fish) is just an extraordinary poet, lyricist and story-teller - he is a personal hero of mine.
This album goes back to that long-song prog-rock era when you would buy the album not just for the music, but for the artwork and learning the words off by heart as you played the record on repeat in your bedroom at full blast, much to the annoyance of your parents.
