SUMMARY: Although the horns are impressive looking, they don't add much to the sound, are cumbersome and restrict your ability to use your hands to shape the sound.

No for all 3.
This concept is about 100 years old. The reason why you have never seen anyone gigging with this is because you can get many more and better effects with just your hands. If this concept still appeals to you aesthetically, I would recommend a collectable antique echophone,or reissue, that you can buy for $60-$120, on eBay. This is the original much better designed brass horn attachment that you can slide your harmonica into. It is small and fits easily in the hand, allowing for some hand effects.
