I don't have the time to be shopping for sales, grinding the food myself, cleaning the grinder, cleaning all the trays I would need to buy to store the raw food, etc. I called my local butcher and they said the same thing...you might save some money but it really has to be a labor of love to make raw food for your dogs. He was right. Each week I travel to them and pick up my order of 40 lbs. raw food for the dogs. They will package each sealed pouch to the size I want and keep the order frozen for me. Nothing to clean for me; just a drive. If you have one dog the size of a German shepherd, you may be looking at $200 a month or so to feed raw food. This is totally worth it since raw is what your dog should be eating. Your dog will be healthier for it, saving on vet bills, dental cleaning bills, and they will live longer. My vet is never surprised at how well the dogs look. We only feed raw. We also will add raw egg at times, green beans, chicken breast...whatever scraps are around from our meals, that will be good for them.
