Tension gripped Nagarkurnool district after a tragic incident at the Kummera Jatara festival claimed the life of a 3-month-old baby.
According to the victim’s mother, Chandrakala, a scuffle broke out during the festival, and organizers allegedly assaulted devotees. In the chaos and pushing, she fell to the ground while carrying her infant. The baby later fell ill and tragically died while receiving treatment.
Family members have accused certain individuals of physical assault and caste-based abuse. They also alleged that police filed false cases against the victims instead of taking strict action against those responsible.
