In Revit, a Structural Truss family is a loadable family that serves as a geometric template for placing structural framing members. It defines the overall layout and connectivity of a truss system, which the software then populates with physical beams and braces.
The layout lines in the family act as "skeleton" lines. When the truss is placed in a project, Revit automatically generates framing members along these lines.
