Stellar Blade is an Action/Adventure/RPG developed by Shift Up and published by Sony as a PlayStation 5-exclusive on 26th April 2024, and later published for PC (Epic Games, Steam) on 11th June 2025. Controversies about its art and character designs sparked around the time of the game's release, even seeing Sony force Shift Up to censor some aspects of the game (some outfits, some gore elements and some graffiti) with a day 1 patch. Of course, the gamers weren't happy, making the #FreeStellarBlade campaign rise and make its voice loud and clear, that Stellar Blade is not just a Waifu Swordsfighter Simulator, and that Shift Up didn't make the usual "gooner bait game". In the end, Shift Up and the gamers won, Stellar Blade proved itself to be a successful game, becoming the most sold Playstation exclusive on PC.
