In the wake of the massacre of 26 children and adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., on December 14, 2012, a group of Holy Cross students, faculty and staff discuss the possible causes and measures to reduce the incidence of gun violence in America. The participants consider: firearm regulations and the Second Amendment, the mental health care system, cultural and sociological indicators for violence, and the promotion of nonviolence.
The discussion, held February 19, 2013, was sponsored by the Rev. Michael C. McFarland, S.J. Center for Religion, Ethics and Culture.
