This song was commissioned for Joondalup Festival as a lasting legacy for one of our most precious natural assets – the beautiful and culturally significant Lake Joondalup.
‘Joondalup Warangka (Joondalup Song)’ was a collaborative project between the West Australian Opera, with Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse, and Boox Kid. Together, these outstanding creatives hade made this incredible song.
With inspiration drawn from the stories and experiences of local residents, Lake Joondalup – The Lake That Glistens is more than just a song, it’s a living time capsule that captures the essence of this special place and its importance to Noongar people many thousands of years ago, as well as to the local community today.
