Its iron rich water turns the stone a deep rust red and has been linked to Joseph of Arimathea, the blood of Christ, the Holy Grail, and even the essence of life itself.

Glastonbury is a place of pilgrimage, spirituality, and deep mystery. From Arthurian legend to ancient feminine and masculine energy symbols, the spring is rich with meaning. Many people visit Glastonbury Tor during the Solstice, but others come simply in search of peace, healing, or answers in the Chalice Spring and gardens.

The well cover features a powerful sacred symbol: the vesica piscis: two interlocking circles representing balance, unity, and the gateway between the physical and spiritual worlds.

Just across the road, the White Spring offers a darker, more mysterious experience. Its calcium rich waters and candlelit temple space add to the mystical energy of Glastonbury.
