Speedrunning All 16 Sonic Handheld Platformers -

Описание: This is the Sonic Handheld 16! This is the live vod of my THIRD speedrun of all 16 sonic handheld platformers, and I did it again with the hopes to get a... less bad run! This run was done on Saturday December 27th 2025!

As every game individual has different speedrun rules via timing, when it starts/ends, what kind of file it uses, etc, I settled on these for all 16 games:
Beat the game via getting to the credits
Every game must start off of a completely fresh save if applicable. This most significantly impacts Sonic Advance2 (cutscenes, Sonic only) and Sonic Rush (cutscenes, Sonic only)
RTA timing overall
I force playing out credits (if unskippable), and only swap games once I return to the current game's respective title screen. This forces a consistent start/end with each game, and also forces breaks for my physical health.

This did NOT include the following:
No spinoffs
No remakes / ports / collections
No boom games - they aren't standard speed platformers, are considered a different canon, and (if you want an objective reason) don't have act numbers
No switch/steamdeck/etc games - they're multiplatform console games that can be played handheld, not games designed for handheld systems, and go against the spirit of the handheld theme
Anything else people bring up that's more obscure / dumb / etc that youtube comments will bring up

The following setups were used:
Gamegear and Neo Geo Pocket Color games ran off of my docked Analogue Pocket with firmware v2.6, with physical cartridges and their respective adapters
Gameboy Advance games were ran off of my Gamecube with Gameboy Interface, with physical cartridges
DS games were ran off of my new 3DS XL capture, with physical cartridges
Playstation Portable games were ran off of my physical PSP hooked up with component cables, with digital installs
3DS games were ran off of my new 3DS XL capture, with digital installs
