Todays video is of a crossing that doesn’t really get used, hardly ever actually. This is Foxton Road crossing which is located on the Barrington Freight Line.

There are 3 crossing in total on this little section of track, this one, Barrington (Glene Road) and Haslingfield Road. This crossing and Haslingfield Road are both AOCLs with the same equipment, 4 Pike Halogen lights with no alarms. The middle crossing does not have any warning lights, this crossing only has signs and the standard cross. There would be someone to patrol that crossing when the train is going past to add that little extra protection.

If you look carefully you can see that in the exit Wigwag on this side, one of the red aspects has been retrofitted with an LED bulb instead of the normal halogen.

The Barrington Landfill is being used to dig out loads of dirt and earth to be used on the new HS2 project, this I assume will be put to use building bridges for roads to cross the railway safely and for the railway it’s self when it would need to clime higher to avoid certain things like rivers or again roads. These crossings should see some action for some time now, there finally being brought back to life.
