A major controversy has erupted in Bangiwal village, Jalandhar, after 22-year-old Lovepreet Singh died from gunshot injuries during a police raid conducted by the Mehatpur Police on Thursday evening.

According to the police, Lovepreet was a proclaimed offender wanted in an attempt-to-murder case. Police claim that family members attacked the raiding team with sticks and stones, injuring SHO Aman Saini and Constable Sukhwinder Singh, forcing officers to open fire in self-defense.

However, Lovepreet’s family alleges that police brutally assaulted him and intentionally shot him. They further claim that the police team fled the scene after the firing.
