Description:
First: this video was recorded at different times to give a complete transition of information. Apologies for some repetitive words and info, so extra editing has to be achieved.
Info:
These brackets are the “Convertible Comfort Mount” brackets… not to be confused with “lift” brackets as 14” is the maximum length shock that will fit on our trikes - without clearance issues.
(The “lift” brackets only work with the 13” shocks).
Previously, I really questioned the effectiveness of these particular “Convertible Comfort Mount” brackets because all these brackets are doing is relocating the bottom of the shock back further 3/4 of an inch.
In short: The answer is: YES!!… You can tell the difference! It does rides smoother!
The same road that I travel every day for work has quite a few bone jarring bumps… just adding these brackets totally took the “Bite” & “harshness” out of those bumps and simply made it smoother! (Some smaller bumps, were barely noticeable).
Although you can still feel these bumps, but it really changed the harshness out of them.
The angled back (“Cantilever” affect) of the shocks that these brackets now give, really do feel help.
If anyone is “on the fence” to add these “Convertible Comfort Mount” brackets to their 14” shocks, you will notice a difference and will help squeeze a little more to a better ride!
(And of course the guys who are running 13” shocks, I would recommend going with their “lift” brackets to get the maximum benefit also).
