In today’s video, I’m handing over to Liz because and to her credit, she insists on doing all the work on her own car. While we were in the Mk 2 C1, Liz drove around a corner and we both hears a water sloshing noise. I knew that the Mk 2 also had water ingress issues, but didn’t realise that it was that bad. Liz removed the trim pieces in the rear to investigate and found that the nearside rear light cluster was loose, but that was because it wasn’t reassembled correctly by Citroen when the car had some work done under warranty. The centre stop light was removed (with great difficulty!) and we found that the spoiler was full to the brim with water! It was surprising to see it was that full and we realised that it would probably end up corroding from the inside out if it was left like that. Liz drained the water and dried it out as far as reasonably practicable and then sealed the housing with clear silicone, just like I did when I sealed the rear of my Mk 1 C1 – see a link to that video below. I hope this video helps anyone with a Mk 2 city bug who is suffering from the same issue.
