Accessible Trails: Low Barrier hike at Federation Forest State Park, near Enumclaw, WA 1/2 mile

Описание: Hello friends! The Federation Forest State Park is a wonderful old growth forest along the White River, near Enumclaw, WA, not too far from Mount Rainier. I've visited the park a few times and have always enjoyed walking through the several miles of trails. I've found the park to be quiet and not busy when I've visited. There are a few miles of trails that have roots and rocks, they wouldn't be great for people who use wheels, however...

I was very happy to find that one trail has been recently upgraded for ADA access, though at this time it doesn't appear officially ADA certified. The Whispering Hemlocks Loop is 1/2 mile with several benches and interpretive signs.

**At the time I visited there were two blow downs, (trees that blocked the trail) in this short loop area- but most of the loop was accessible and you could turn back for an out and back instead of completing a loop. Hopefully the trees will be cleared before long. Unfortunately blow downs happen in the forest environment.
