Dragonfly & Quicksilver Sport 2S Light Sport Aircraft

Unfortunately, a weather front decided to come into town. We waited half the day and the weather was just getting worse by the hour. So when it couldn't get much worse, we decided to have a go. We were all dressed up with no place to go.

As a result of our good judgment, we weren't able to fly any type of formation for filming due to turbulence. The video can be as bumpy as the air as I was holding on with one hand and working the camera with the other while trying to remain seated for the entire ride.

With full tanks of gas and a strong headwind, we launched after a very short take-off roll. As soon as the wheels left the ground we tracked down the runway at a 45 degree angle, crabbing all the way out of the traffic pattern. Without a lot of thought we decided to call it a day and just burn off some fuel. BTW, if you've ever wondered how mid-air collisions happen, watch the video closely at 2:18. Since we were in radio contact, we knew each others positions. However, the video is a good example of how you don't always see air traffic.

Although we weren't able to test the spray system, I did get some HD video clips and decided to put them together in a short video that I hope you enjoy.
