£1.50 A DAY VEGAN FOOD CHALLENGE | 7 DAYS • 21 MEALS • ASDA
Can you really eat for just £1.50 a day in 2026?
In this week-long limited budget vegan food challenge, I’m spending £10.50 total at Asda to cover 7 days of food — that’s 21 meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). The goal is to stretch every penny while still creating balanced, varied, and filling meals.
🌱 Challenge rules:
£1.50 per day (£10.50 for the week)
Vegan meals only
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day
Only basic foraged/scavenged items allowed (herbs, spices, simple extras)
Focus on nutrition, variety, and realistic cooking
This is Week 1 of a month-long extended series.
Week 2 will continue the challenge at Morrisons, again on a £1.50 daily budget — including any ingredients left over from this week.

Meal plan vegan week 1
Day 1:
Breakfast: porridge cooked in water with peanut butter & half banana
Lunch: lentil curry with baby spinach in wrap x2; grapes
Dinner: smoky chilli beans with rice
Day 2
Breakfast: porridge cooked in water with half banana & cinnamon powder
Lunch: lentil curry and rice
Dinner: smoky chilli beans and jacket potato with side salad of baby spinach & grated carrots
Day 3
Breakfast: banana oat pancakes with peanut butter and grapes
Lunch: potato and spinach soup with dumplings
Dinner: lentil curry and rice
Day 4
Breakfast: porridge in water with pinch of salt
Lunch: potato and spinach soup with dumplings
Dinner: smoky chilli beans with rice
Day 5
Breakfast: porridge cooked in water with pinch of sugar and grapes
Lunch: smoky chilli beans with rice
Dinner: mushroom vegetable & tomato sauce with spaghetti
Day 6
Breakfast: fried mushroom & spinach wraps with peanut butter x2
Lunch: lentil curry & rice
Dinner: mushroom vegetable & tomato sauce with spaghetti
Day 7
Breakfast: porridge cooked in water with peanut butter
Lunch: smoky chilli beans and rice
