Learning from Lake Sturgeon – a co-created initiative by WCS Canada and Moose Cree First Nation – was designed to gather information for decision-making about lake sturgeon and the rivers they call home within the Moose Cree Homeland (Kit Aski Nahnuun).
Through our Youth Program, we’re supporting Moose Cree Youth to connect with their Homelands and discover future paths in environmental stewardship and careers. Neemamo Mishkanan - “We Canoe Together” – was a highlight of our youth programming in 2024, led by Moose Cree First Nation and supported by WCS Canada.
The 8-day, 200km canoe trip through the Moose Cree Homeland gave 11 Youth opportunities for cultural connection and for building environmental conservation skills through hands-on learning in nature.
