This story is written by Jayant Vishnu Narlikar and translated to Hindi by Rekha Deshpande. This is an imaginary story of people living on the planet Mars. The story mainly focuses on a small kid called chhotu. The whole colony of chhotu lives underground on mars due to radiations outside and his father used to work on maintenance of the devices that were deployed on the ground outside that used to capture Sun's energy that was necessary for survival. So his father used to go through a secret tunnel on ground everyday and chhotu wonders where he goes everyday. One day he stole security pass of his father and enters the secret tunnel that was way up to the ground. He was caught by the policemen that were deployed there and was sent back to the home. Here mother was about to beat him but his father saved him and told him about the fact, then chhotu also wishes to become like his father when he grows up. His mother told that you need to be very good at studies an obey your parents to become like him. One day a space ship come to his planet and people were wondering where this spacecraft came from. This was the Viking 1 which was sent by NASA from earth on mars. When people were watching the spacecraft chhotu presses a red button accidently and Viking 1 arm like device gets disabled for few days. This device was trying to evaluate the soil of mars to explore the possibility of life on this planet, but still fact is unknown.
