Assassin's Creed Origins is an action-adventure game set in ancient Egypt during the Ptolemaic period (circa 49–43 BCE). It follows the story of Bayek of Siwa, a Medjay (ancient Egyptian protector) who embarks on a journey of vengeance after the murder of his son, Khemu, by mysterious assailants.

As Bayek seeks to uncover the identity of his son’s killers, he becomes entangled in a larger conflict involving the formation of the Assassins Brotherhood. Bayek’s journey reveals the political turmoil of Egypt, with the growing influence of the Order of the Ancients, a secret organization seeking to control Egypt, and the struggle for power between Cleopatra and her brother, Ptolemy XIII.

Throughout the game, players explore an expansive open world, participate in various quests, and engage in combat using an array of weapons and skills. Bayek's personal quest for justice intertwines with the broader creation of the Assassins and the ideological battles against the Templars, laying the foundation for the centuries-old conflict between the Assassins and Templars.

The game emphasizes exploration, stealth, and combat while providing a detailed look at ancient Egyptian culture, mythology, and history.
