Yet, there are plenty whose ages may surprise you, and some might even change how you feel about the Disney films they’re a part of. You may have seen Hercules plenty of times, but knowing the age gap between the titular hero and his love interest, Meg, puts the movie in a different light. Many characters in Beauty and the Beast have ages that truly perplex us. And, even though he’s a mythical creature, the Genie from Aladdin is still older than we expected… much older. It’s also surprising to learn that some of the characters undergoing truly harrowing experiences in the movies in which they star are actually only kids. Alice is much younger than you’d expect when she visits Wonderland, as is Mulan when she fights for China. And, even though Peter Pan famously vowed to never grow up, we could have seen a version of his movie where he did grow up, after all.
