In this episode, I’m sharing the story behind my 1986 Albin 27 Family Cruiser restoration — a complete pocket trawler refit and remodel that I’ve been working on since 2014. This isn’t just a quick paint job — this Albin 27 has been completely gutted down to a bare fiberglass hull and rebuilt from the ground up. I’ve removed every wire, piece of wood, and system to rebuild the boat into my retirement cruiser — one that I plan to take on The Great Loop, maybe even down to the Bahamas, Mexico, or Cuba.
