Multiple fires broke out in Rapid City, South Dakota today amidst extremely high winds associated with a high wind warning. Per bystander reports (audio included), sparks were seen flying from a nearby powerline on Skyline Drive amidst the winds. The fire quickly spread through the dry grasses and trees with critical fire conditions. The fire occurred near a local news station, which briefly evacuated due to the fire's proximity. More extreme winds are expected overnight, with gusts in excess of 80mph anticipated in Rapid City.
