Basques in Boise Celebrate San Inazio Festival 2022 - Boise, Idaho - Basque Music and Dancing

Описание: Every July 31, the Basque community of Boise celebrates its patron saint, San Inazio. For two years, there had been no celebration because of the pandemic. This July, the festival returned to the Basque Block. The dance group Udaberri, from Tolosa, Gipuzkoa, and the band Korrontzi, came to Boise to join in the festivities along with Boise's Oinkari Dancers. They performed on Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, handball and pala players played games at the historic Anduiza fronton. Saturday evening, a Catholic mass, where liturgical dances from Oñati dances were performed, was celebrated at St. Mark's Church. On Sunday, a family picnic, with an egg toss, jota contests and txinga-carrying contests were held. That night, a street dance with Korrontzi and Boise's band Amuma Says No ended the festival. #Basquemusic #Basquedance #basquefestival
