My family is making a switch from glassware over to stainless steel dinnerware. There is a reason that the military, prisons, cafeterias, and world governments use Stainless Steel Mess Trays. They are durable, they cannot be broken in normal use and washing, they can be melted down and reformed if necessary, and they can be used to boil water in making it safe to drink.
