Narrow Gauge Night Run at Mid-South Live Steamers

Thanks for checking out this "Night Run" video with my newest addition to the family: 3" Scale Baldwin Mogul "Dulce" (Los Pinos RR #5). This locomotive was designed and built by Willis Light Engineering in Perth, Australia in 1991. Scaled down from an American-built narrow gauge locomotive that worked for a Puerto Rican sugar cane plantation, this loco has quite a unique story. I'm excited to share a more in-depth analysis on Dulce and her full-size sister "La Quinta" in a future video! (For those wondering, this is not an RMI locomotive.)

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend running at the MSLS Spring Meet this past May, and this is footage taken from our run there! Huge Thanks again to all the members and volunteers who made this meet a wonderful experience for all!

We fought storms and flooding all day Friday, and this was my first opportunity to get out to film without soaking my cameras. You'll see plenty of lightning in the distance throughout the run, especially when we cut to the Rear-Facing camera angle. My apologies for such a dark video, but this truly gives you the experience of sitting in the cab with me! I really wasn't able to see any more than the camera, especially with the condensation and smoke in my face!! Luckily my cab lights are great on the Fireman's Side Water Glass and the Pressure Gauge, so I can always feel my way around from there. Night running has always been one of my favorite experiences - it truly forces you to be present, and become one with the machine!
