The DAW was opened twice. One was used for playback while, the other for recording. Each compressor was faced with a + 20 dB @ 10 kHz Shelf from the channel strip on the playback DAW. The playback DAW sample rate (due to the audio file) was 44.1 kHz while the recording DAW was configured to a sample rate of 48 kHz. The Hardware Compressor has a frequency bandwidth of 170 kHz @ -3 dB.The Software VST Compressor offers not high frequency cut off point other than the Nyquist limitation of the sample rate.
