The truest of Monsters. One of the largest growing fishes on the planet and really only suited for Public Aquaria.

An incredible fish to see in person and the striking colors of juveniles is just amazing. Loads of personality and a very hardy fish that will make short work of any tankmates. Juveniles are known to come from brackish water and this fish seems to have a tolerance for freshwater as they have been found in the Brisbane River.


Common Name : Giant grouper, Brindlebass, Brown Spotted Cod, Bumblebee Grouper, and as the Queensland Grouper
Scientific Name : Epinephelus lanceolatus
Family: Serranidae
Origin : Australia, large distribution
Size : 8 feet and up to 850 pounds
PH : 8.2 - 8.4 ( very hardy for a marine fish)
Temperature : 74-78 F
Temperament : Very predatory and opportunistic. Will out grow everything that will become a potential meal.
