1. Measurements needed
Bust
Under-bust
Waist
Hip
Shoulder to under-bust
Dress length
Neck circumference (for halter strap)
2. Cutting the bodice (under-bust halter)
Draft a basic bodice block.
Mark the under-bust line (2–3 inches below bust).
Separate the bodice into:
Upper bodice (ruched section)
Basque waist piece
Slash and spread the upper bodice vertically to create fullness for ruching.
Cut:
1 front upper bodice (with extra width for gathers)
1 back upper bodice
1 front basque
1 back basque
Cut lining and interfacing for stability.
3. Halter neckline
Shape the neckline curve softly.
Gather the neckline edge.
Attach to a halter strap or neck band.
Add hook, button, or tie at the back of the neck.
4. Sewing the ruched bodice

6. Sewing the skirt

Pleat or gather the waistline.
Attach skirt to basque.
Insert back zipper.

Press all seams

Add hand stitching for clean finish
