We achieved a significant milestone at the C2/C3 Roundabout this week - successfully installing 16 pre-cast concrete underpass units, each weighing 32 tonnes, and completing it all in just one day!
The process was seamless: a crane loaded the units onto a truck on the southern side of Cambridge Road, which then transported them one-by-one across to the northern side for unloading and installation by a second crane.
These units will form an underpass underneath the new roundabout, allowing pedestrians and cyclists to safely cross Cambridge Road once works are completed.
A huge congratulations to the site team, and thank you to our project partners for their support in achieving this milestone: Downer Transport & Infrastructure, Pollock Cranes, CMW Geosciences, Simple Traffic Management.
Works on the roundabout and corridor upgrade are expected to be completed in September 2025.
