This past Thanksgiving break, I had the chance to head to Hawaiʻi to finally ride the Honolulu Skyline, Oʻahu’s new automated rapid transit system. In this video, I take you along for the ride as I experience Skyline firsthand, checking out the stations, trains, and views along the elevated guideway.
Skyline has a long and controversial history, but riding it in person really showcases how unique this system is — from driverless trains and platform screen doors to the incredible scenery you can only experience in Hawaiʻi. Whether you’re a railfan, transit enthusiast, or just curious about Honolulu’s newest piece of infrastructure, I hope you enjoy coming along for this ride.
