How To Delete / Reset Game Data On iPhone

Some games save data in different locations, so you may need to try a couple of methods. We’ll cover two main methods, and then, as a last resort, we’ll discuss deleting and reinstalling the game or app.

First, many games save progress data inside Game Center, which is now stored in your iCloud account. Here’s how to find it:

Open the Settings app.
Tap your name at the top.
Select iCloud from the second section below.
Choose Manage Storage.
After a moment, your iCloud saved storage will appear.
Scroll down to the list of games and apps.
If the game uses Game Center and iCloud to save your data, it will be listed here.
Select the game you want to reset.
If the game uses this method to save data, you will see a Delete Data button. Tap it to delete and reset your game.
This is the easiest way to reset and delete your game data, but not all games save data this way. Each game or app may handle data differently.

For instance, I have Skate City on my phone, which uses a different method to save progress. Here’s another way to delete and start over:

Open the app you want to reset.
Navigate to the main menu.
Look for a settings or menu button.
In the Skate City example, scroll down to the bottom of the settings screen to find the reset progress option.
Tap it and confirm to delete and reset the game's data.
You may need to search around to find this option, depending on where the developers put it. Unfortunately, not all games offer this.

As a last resort, if you can’t find the option inside the game or in your iCloud Game Center, you can delete the app and reinstall it to reset:

On the home screen, press and hold the app or game you want to delete.
Tap Remove App from the pop-up menu.
Tap Delete App to completely delete it from your device.
Go to the App Store and redownload the app to start fresh.
If none of these worked, and you're trying to reset your progress on Clash games, you may have to try a different option. The reason you aren't able to reset is because they save your data to their own servers, attached to your email or however you set up your account originally. To reset, sign up with a new account. Delete the app from your phone and reinstall it. When you open it again, sign up with a new account. They may change this in the future and allow you to reset your data on their servers, but for now, this is the workaround.
