Do you get what you pay for or are you just paying for a name? Comparing three bridge humbuckers - PFS Fat Pat $30, Seymour Duncan '59 $83, and the Gibson '57 Classic $130.
I realize having the different pickups on different guitars introduces other factors that impact tone, but this will give you an idea of how the three pickups compare. Recorded using Line 6 Pod Studio. Nothing was changed on the amp for each riff, so all differences in tone and volume are due to the guitars.
