Pre SeasonTesting & Season Opener at Silverstone GP | BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship | March 2023

Описание: Join us on the run up to the 2023 race season as we test the Citroen C1 in readiness for the 24 hr race in May and get Luke's new Mazda ready and tested against all odds for the season opener at the Silverstone GP Circuit. There's lots of action and onboard footage at what proves to be an exciting and promising start to the season.

In this vlog, Keith and Luke spend a day with our AB Motorsport team-mates testing "Dave the Frog" - the Citroen C1- in readiness for the Citroen C1 24 Endurance Race scheduled for 20th-21st May.

Also, after a couple of aborted attempts to get the new Mazda tested, Luke & Keith finally get the car out on track at Donington for a test day on 13th March. It's a wet and windy day but the car goes well and, with an extra test day booked at Brands Hatch, spirits are high. However, a problem with the gearbox brings the test day at Brands Hatch to an early finish but the boys head to Silverstone where the team at AB Motorsport are on hand to fit a new gear-box before testing the next day. With the new gearbox in place testing goes well and Luke is on the pace to secure a 3rd place qualifying position the next day.

Race 1 is exciting and Luke is on for a good result but a silly mistake puts him back from 2nd (with potential to win) to a P4 finish. Still a good result and he is happy with the way the car is performing.

On Sunday, starting P4 Luke enjoys some good on track battles and is set to challenge for a podium finish when his suspension breaks on the final lap and he limps home to a P12 finish with one wheel barely staying on! Race 3 sees him go from 12th to 5th with some great racing from all the front pack.

All in all a promsing start tot he season - the car is fast and Luke's racing skills and attitude are all lining up to make this an exciting season!
