Preprocessing : The preprocessing stage involves setting up the simulation model. This is often the most time-consuming and critical part, as errors here can invalidate the final results. It transforms the real-world physical problem into a solvable numerical model.
Solution (or Processing)
The Solution stage is where the FEA software's solver performs the numerical calculations. This step is typically automated by the software and involves mathematically solving the system of equations formulated in the preprocessing stage.
Post-processing
The post-processing stage involves interpreting and visualizing the raw numerical results obtained from the solver to make engineering judgments and decisions.
