On january the 24th we went on the Stockton Mine tour from Westport. The tour only costs $20 and is a fascinating insight into the history of the Westcoast mining industry. There is ample propaganda, which is openly accepted by the tour guide, but also hope that there is some education and information that is new to people.
Its a divisive topic, but it is always good to be informed about these things that matter so much in New Zealand.
Its an amazingly good value for money trip, and worth doing while the mine is still operating.
