Dusty Rose is a song about regret and heartache. The feeling of having no choice but to leave loved ones and unresolved matters behind. We chase after so many things that society tells us is important like wealth, fame and reputation, that we often forget it's the little things that truly matter, until it's all too late. “Should have said thank you”, “Should have said sorry” , “Should have done this or that”. When everything is said and done, it puts most things into perspective and we often come to the same conclusion; that at the end of the day, it's the little things and relationships we build that truly matter and live forever. Not pride, not ego and definitely not materialistic items we seem to put a ridiculous amount of emphasis on.
