High-Performance Machine Tending with FP-7 Gantries at WILA

Описание: WILA, a global leader in press brake productivity, manufactures high-quality tools and tool holders for sheet metal bending at its production site in Lochem, Netherlands.

To ensure maximum efficiency and 24/7 production with minimal human intervention, WILA invested in three advanced production cells with a total of fourteen machining centers – including up to six Chiron Mill 6000 machines per cell. The systems process workpieces up to 6 meters in length.

At the core of the automation concept is a Güdel 4-axis FP-7 gantry system.

Positioned above the machining centers, the gantry handles loading and unloading from the top, operating along a separate corridor to keep machines accessible for maintenance. With a payload capacity of 2,500 kg and a transport range of 12 × 35 meters, the system changes hydraulically clamped fixtures within just two minutes.

Thanks to the high rigidity of the axes and excellent repositioning accuracy, the FP-7 gantry ensures precise positioning of clamping devices and reliable loading and unloading – even in demanding heavy-duty applications.
