"You Do Have To Stop & Get Permission From The Owner"

Описание: Todays installment brings me to the public sidewalk outside this shopping center anchored by this community grocery store where I exercised my freedom to record what I could see from the public space in which I was standing. There was a constant flow of traffic through the parking lot, as well as foot traffic coming & going to the store. About 10 minutes into my recording the area, a few employees emerged from the store & walked towards where I was recording from. an older looking individual with an apron went into telling me that I had to stop what I was doing & I wasn't allowed to record the store front. He mentioned that I needed to get permission from the manager & or owner to continue recording, indicating that I needed to get permission. I told them that was a silly request for me to ask for permission to use my camera equipment on a public sidewalk. They eventually made their way back inside. The older looking individual came out once more, this time asking for my name & what company I worked for. I told him my name was Nunya Business. He caught onto that obviously wasn't my real name & I had no intentions of giving out my real name. He was misunderstood in regards to my not being allowed to record from the public sidewalk. I invited him to enlighten himself by looking up on the internet about public photography & how to create his privacy if he didn't want to be visible from where I was recording from. He once again returned to the inside of the store. I did notice that within 10 minutes or so, a sheriffs patrol vehicle entered the shopping center, initially going in the opposite direction from where my vantage point was. The deputy eventually circled around the parking lot , passing back & forth in front of the store 3 times before exiting the shopping center & driving away. Thankfully, no contact was made by the deputy & I had no further contact with anyone from the store.
