Dawlish Railway Station is Fully Accessible for the First Time

Since 1846, Platform 1 of Dawlish Railway station has only been accessible by stairs if the station is unstaffed. For passengers with reduced mobility and parents with pushchairs, if they couldn't use the stairs and the station had no staff (evenings), they would have to travel to Newton Abbot and get another train back to Dawlish to alight on platform 2.
Until now, this has been an arduous process for many, with people occasionally being stuck on platform 1. Thanks to @networkrail and the South West Rail Resilience Programme, both platforms are now fully accessible for the first time since the railway arrived in 1846.
