The Quill Gordon, Theodore Gordon’s iconic dry fly. Mr Gordon is said to be the father of American dry flies and one of the first mentioned when talkkng about the Catskill style dry flies.
The Quill Gordon was his model to mimic mayflies. It was first mentioned in text at the beggining of the 1900’s, if I remember correct, 1907.
Mr Gordon got his inspired to try the dry flies after corresponding with English flyfishing hero at the time, FM Halford.
